Orders Open as Hatsune Miku V6 Vocal Synth Confirmed for April Release

Crypton Future Media has confirmed the official launch schedule for its next major version of the Hatsune Miku software.

The Hatsune Miku V6 vocal synthesizer will officially arrive on shelves and at digital stores this spring.

Hatsune Miku is a virtual singer software that originally launched in 2007, sparking a global creative movement that encompasses music, illustration, and live 3D concerts.

This upcoming release builds upon the VOCALOID6 engine, utilizing advanced AI technology to generate unprecedentedly natural singing voices.

The software analyzes the lyrical and melodic input to automatically insert realistic breath sounds and smooth out pitch transitions, mimicking the nuances of a human vocalist.

Users can create songs in Japanese and English immediately upon release, with support for Chinese planned via a free post-launch update.

For advanced users, the software offers “Expression parameters” to adjust vocal tension and a “TAKE function” that generates variations of a phrase to create rich harmonies.

While the full package illustration has yet to be seen, a silhouette teaser has been released, with the full reveal scheduled for “Miku Day” on Monday, March 9, 2026.

To ensure creators can start making music right away, the package includes the “Cubase LE” digital audio workstation (DAW) and other necessary production tools.

The software is available in two different configurations to suit both new users and existing producers:

This version includes the VOCALOID6 Editor and is priced at 24,200 yen (approx. $160 USD / £127 GBP), with a discounted rate of 21,780 yen available for owners of previous versions.

Voicebank

Designed for users who already own the editor, this standalone library is priced at 10,780 yen (approx. $71 USD / £56 GBP), with a discounted rate of 8,624 yen available for eligible users.
