One Piece’s Whitebeard Returns to Marineford in New Official First Look
Image by Charlotte DavisBandai has officially revealed a massive new S.H.Figuarts figure of One Piece’s legendary pirate Edward Newgate, better known as Whitebeard, bringing one of the series’ most powerful characters to its growing Marineford collection.
The new “S.H.Figuarts Edward Newgate (Whitebeard) -Marineford-” depicts the captain of the Whitebeard Pirates during the Paramount War, complete with his signature weapon, a fabric coat, and multiple effect parts based on his devastating Devil Fruit abilities.

Whitebeard was one of the Four Emperors who ruled over the New World and was widely regarded as the World’s Strongest Man, having once rivaled the legendary Pirate King Gol D. Roger.

He commanded one of the most powerful pirate crews in the world, treating his subordinates as his own sons and earning the affectionate nickname “Pops” from those who served under him.

During the Marineford Arc, Whitebeard launches an enormous assault on Marine Headquarters in an attempt to rescue Portgas D. Ace, the commander of his crew’s Second Division, from execution.

The resulting battle brings together some of the strongest pirates and Marines in One Piece, with Whitebeard demonstrating the destructive power of the Tremor-Tremor Fruit, which allows him to generate earthquakes and shockwaves powerful enough to devastate his surroundings.

Bandai first teased the Whitebeard figure in November 2025, when his enormous silhouette appeared behind Luffy and Ace during an early preview of the Marineford S.H.Figuarts collection.

Nearly a year later, the finished release has finally been unveiled, standing approximately 24.5 cm tall with a detailed sculpt capturing Whitebeard’s enormous physique, facial features, and battle scars.

His familiar captain’s coat is made from fabric rather than solid plastic, with a patterned interior and integrated wires that allow collectors to position it around his shoulders.

The set also includes Whitebeard’s signature naginata, Murakumogiri, one of the Supreme Grade blades in the One Piece world, which he uses throughout his battles during the war.

Several special effect parts represent the power of the Tremor-Tremor Fruit, including attachments that depict Whitebeard shattering the surrounding air and gripping space as though tearing it apart.

Additional accessories include five interchangeable facial expressions and four types of replacement hands for each side, allowing him to be displayed in different moments from the Marineford conflict.

Bandai has also included a bonus facial expression for the separately sold “S.H.Figuarts Monkey D. Luffy -Marineford-” figure, adding another option for collectors building displays around the same storyline.

Whitebeard joins an expanding S.H.Figuarts lineup dedicated to the Paramount War, with several major characters from the conflict already receiving their own releases.
Earlier this year, Bandai revealed a new figure of Red-Haired Shanks based on his arrival during the final stages of the battle, when he intervenes to stop the fighting and ultimately brings the war to an end.

More recently, Sakazuki, better known as Akainu, received his own Marineford S.H.Figuarts figure featuring a fabric Marine coat and an extensive selection of magma effect parts based on his Mag-Mag Fruit abilities.

That release also includes interchangeable parts designed to work with the separately sold Ace and Luffy figures, allowing collectors to depict one of the most devastating moments of the Marineford Arc.

Pre-orders for the “S.H.Figuarts Edward Newgate (Whitebeard) -Marineford-” will officially open through Premium Bandai Japan on October 13, 2026, at 4:00 PM (JST), priced at ¥28,600 (approximately $180/£136), with shipping scheduled for June 2027.
