New Zeta Gundam book provides a definitive guide to the series for its 40th anniversary

A new “mook,” or magazine-book, has been released, which provides a deep dive into the world of the classic anime series, Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam.
The new book, “Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam Great Dissection,” is being released to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the anime’s original broadcast in 1985.

Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam is the official sequel to the original Mobile Suit Gundam, and it is set in the Universal Century timeline, seven years after the end of the One Year War.

The series is known for its darker and more complex tone, its intricate political conflicts, and the return of classic characters like Amuro Ray and Char Aznable in new roles.

It also introduced the concept of transformable mobile suits to the franchise, with the titular Zeta Gundam becoming one of the most iconic and influential mecha designs of all time.

This new, 128-page, full-color book is a comprehensive and thorough “dissection” of the beloved and influential series, designed to be a permanent reference for fans.

The book contains a variety of different sections, including a special art gallery, detailed character profiles for protagonists like Kamille Bidan and antagonists like Haman Karn, and in-depth profiles of the various mobile suits, such as the Gundam Mk-II.

It also features a detailed, episode-by-episode breakdown of the series’s complex story.

This new mook is a definitive and comprehensive guide to the classic anime.

The “Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam Great Dissection” is published by San-ei and is priced at ¥1,320 (approx. $9 USD/£6.60 GBP).
The book is now on sale and available at bookstores and convenience stores across Japan.
