New trailer for Hell's Paradise season 2 shows off new characters amid escalating conflict

A new promotional video and character designs have been released for the second season of the popular anime series, Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku.

The new season is scheduled to begin its broadcast in January 2026.

Hell’s Paradise, based on the hit manga by Yuji Kaku, follows the story of the ninja Gabimaru the Hollow as he and a group of other death row criminals are sent to a mysterious and deadly island in search of the Elixir of Life.

The first season of the anime was a major success, and this new season will continue the story.

The new trailer for the second season opens with a tense scene of four new Yamada Asaemon executioners being ordered to land on the island.

It teases the escalating conflict, including the threat of the powerful Tensen, Gabimaru’s memory loss, and the growing strife between the various criminals.

A closer look at four new characters and their voice actors, who will be joining the series in the second season, is also revealed during the trailer.

The new characters and their voice actors are:

Yamada Asaemon Shugen: Ryota Suzuki

Yamada Asaemon Jikka: Kōji Yusa

Yamada Asaemon Kiyomaru: Maaya Uchida

Yamada Asaemon Isuzu: Sayaka Ohara

In a comment, Ryota Suzuki said, “I have been working on portraying the serious and often clumsy Shugen, who, in his respect for his comrades and the way of the samurai, tries to enforce an excessive sense of justice.”

Kōji Yusa added, “Jikka is a person who holds a unique position in this series’ hard worldview. I will do my best to portray his carefree attitude!”

The returning main cast also shared their excitement.

Chiaki Kobayashi, the voice of Gabimaru, stated, “The passion of the director and the staff is incredible, and the result is a superb work, so please look forward to the broadcast!”

Yumiri Hanamori, the voice of Sagiri, added, “As a voice actress, I will continue to do my best to express the beauty and strength of Sagiri as she continues to face her own beliefs while gradually sharpening her blade.”
