Evangelion Manga Artwork Inspires Detailed New Misato Katsuragi Scale Figure

Japanese figure manufacturer “HOBBY MAX JAPAN” has officially revealed a highly detailed new scale figure based on the legendary sci-fi anime Neon Genesis Evangelion.
The “Misato Katsuragi: Comics Ver.” scale figure draws direct inspiration from a classic title page illustration found in the manga adaptation.

Making its television debut back in 1995, Neon Genesis Evangelion completely revolutionized the mecha genre by blending intense giant robot battles with deep psychological themes and complex character studies.

This groundbreaking animated production quickly grew into a massive global cultural phenomenon, inspiring multiple feature-length cinematic films, numerous print adaptations, and a dedicated collectors’ community that has remained highly active for decades.

As a central character in the overarching story, Misato Katsuragi remains one of the most recognizable and prominent faces of the series.

She is incredibly popular among fans for her sharp tactical intellect during Angel attacks and her deeply supportive, yet profoundly troubled, relationship with the young Eva pilots living under her roof.

This new release perfectly captures the undeniable mature charm of the commander through a subtle, leaning posture that beautifully emphasizes her natural silhouette.

Talented sculptors have meticulously rendered the signature jacket hanging loosely off her shoulders, adding a strong sense of casual realism to the desktop display.

Her outfit is further enhanced by a specialized gloss paint finish designed to realistically mimic the sleek texture of genuine leather clothing.

Misato’s purple hair is reproduced using delicate color gradations that give the flowing locks a distinctly light and airy appearance.

A handgun held firmly in her right hand completes the iconic pose, injecting a sharp sense of gravity into the piece.

The impressive “Misato Katsuragi: Comics Ver.” scale figure is officially priced at 23,980 yen (approx. $153 USD / £120 GBP).
