New METAL ROBOT Spirits figure of Amuro Ray’s Hi-ν Gundam revealed

Bandai Spirits has announced the return of the iconic Hi-ν Gundam to its premium “METAL ROBOT Spirits” line with a new “Exclusive Edition” figure.
The Hi-ν Gundam is the final mobile suit piloted by Amuro Ray, the legendary protagonist of the original “Mobile Suit Gundam” series.

In the 1988 novel “Beltorchika’s Children,” a different version of the story from the film “Mobile Suit Gundam: Char’s Counterattack,” the Hi-ν Gundam serves as Amuro’s personal machine.

It is a powerful upgrade to the ν Gundam, featuring a more streamlined design, improved performance, and distinctive fin funnels on its back.
The original design, illustrated by mechanical designer Yutaka Izubuchi, is characterized by its unique color scheme and markings, which distinguish it from the more commonly known film version of the ν Gundam.

The Hi-ν Gundam is a highly popular mobile suit among fans due to its unique appearance and status as the final machine of the franchise’s most famous pilot.
The “METAL ROBOT Spirits” series is a high-end collector’s line known for its use of die-cast metal parts, which give the figures a significant weight and feel of quality.

These figures also feature intricate articulation, detailed paint applications, and a wide array of accessories, making them highly sought after by collectors.
The METAL ROBOT Spirits line already features a large number of Gundams, including the Legend Gundam, GFreD, and the recently announced Wing Zero from Gundam Wing.

The image released by Bandai Spirits for this new figure highlights the attention to detail in recreating the original design.
The shield is shown with its distinct ink spot camouflage pattern, and the fin funnels feature a sharp splitter camouflage.
These markings are key elements of the Hi-ν Gundam’s original look from “Beltorchika’s Children” and are a major draw for fans of the source material, as these details are often simplified or changed in other merchandise.
Details regarding the figure’s sales methods and final price have not yet been released.
However, as is common with “METAL ROBOT Spirits” releases, it is expected to be a premium-priced collectible aimed at dedicated Gundam enthusiasts.
