Worldwide Gundam Popularity Poll Results Announced by Bandai

Bandai Namco has officially announced the final results of the Worldwide Gundam General Election 2025 popularity poll.
This massive popularity contest was originally launched back in October 2025, and fans across the globe submitted over 1.33 million valid votes across ten different languages during the polling period.

The legendary mecha franchise has been a firm favorite of audiences for decades due to its complex political dramas and thrilling giant robot battles.

To celebrate the results announcement, artists created seven newly drawn illustrations featuring the winning mecha from each specific language category:
- Japanese and Traditional Chinese – Nu Gundam (Mobile Suit Gundam: Char’s Counterattack)
- Original artwork: Atsushi Shigeta
- Special effects and finishing work: Kentaro Waki
- Art direction: Shizuko Kojima (Atelier Musa)

- English and Taiwanese – Wing Gundam Zero (Mobile Suit Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz)
- Illustrator: Kosaka Daiki

- Simplified Chinese – Mighty Strike Freedom Gundam (Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM)

- Mafty Award (105th Place): Gundam AGE-2 Dark Hound

The Gundam AGE-2 Dark Hound earned the “Mafty Award” for ranking 105th, referencing the Universal Century year 0105 setting of the currently screening Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway: The Witch of Circe film.
- Gundam 47th Anniversary Award (47th Place): Gundam Ground Type
- Featured in: Mobile Suit Gundam: The 08th MS Team

The Gundam Ground Type secured the “Gundam 47th Anniversary Award” by landing in the 47th position.
- Neo Holland Award (25th Place): Nether Gundam

Finally, the windmill-themed Nether Gundam (Hurricane Gundam in the English dub) from Mobile Fighter G Gundam claimed the token “Neo Holland Award,” presumably after hiding in plain sight to secure 25th place.
