Production Begins on Sentenced To Be A Hero Season 2

A second season for the Sentenced to Be a Hero television anime is officially in production following an announcement at the AnimeJapan panel event on March 28, 2026.
The news was accompanied by the release of an ultra teaser visual and an announcement trailer, though a specific premiere date has not yet been established.

Streaming platform Crunchyroll confirmed on March 28, 2026, that it will host the new season on its service when it eventually debuts.
The franchise also expanded with the reveal of a new game titled Sentenced to Be a Hero: Game of the GODDESS.

The original light novel series by Rocket Shokai first launched in October 2020, with the physical editions illustrated by Mephisto reaching eight volumes in Japan as of early 2026.
Natsumi Inoue began a manga adaptation in March 2022, which currently has two volumes available in Japan.
The story follows Xylo Forbartz, a condemned goddess killer serving in Penal Hero Unit 9004, who finds his cycle of endless resurrection challenged by a mysterious new ally.
English readers can read the light novels as published by Yen Press, which is also slated to begin releasing the manga version in June 2026.
Hiroyuki Takashima is returning to direct the adaptation at Studio KAI, supported by series composer Kenta Ihara and character designer Takeru Noda.
