NEEDY STREAMER OVERLOAD Anime Reveals Opening Theme and Original Character

Aniplex has released the second promotional video for the upcoming NEEDY STREAMER OVERLOAD anime, offering a frantic, neon-soaked glimpse into the life of everyone’s favorite “Internet Angel,” KAngel.
Known as Needy Girl Overdose in Japan, the series adapts the popular video game.

The new PV highlights the high-energy opening theme, titled “INTERNET ANGEL,” composed and arranged by Aiobahn +81 with lyrics by the game’s original scenario writer, nyalra.

The track, performed by KAngel herself, perfectly captures the chaotic aesthetic of the game, which has now surpassed 3 million copies sold worldwide.
The biggest surprise in the trailer is the reveal of an anime-original character named Kache, voiced by Anna Nagase.

Described as a vocational school student who works at a “concept cafe,” Kache serves as a thematic foil to KAngel’s sparkling, digital persona.
“Kache feels that she is boring, ordinary, and corrupt,” Nagase commented regarding the role.
“She stands in the shadow of the stars who shine brightly and are showered with praise. I hope you can feel the gap between her reality and the world of the idols.”

Before the full TV broadcast, fans will have the chance to see the story unfold on the big screen.
“NEEDY GIRL OVERDOSE -OVERTURE-” is scheduled for an early theatrical release starting March 6, 2026.
Those attending the first week of screenings (March 6–13) will receive an exclusive instant photo-style card set featuring original character designs by Okinawari.

Each set contains two cards: one guaranteed KAngel and one random design from a pool of four.
To celebrate the theatrical launch, a special stage greeting will be held at Theater Shinjuku on Saturday, March 7th.
The event will feature a rare joint appearance by KAngel and the three members of the “Karamazov” streamer group.

With music overseen by Haraguchi Sasuke and DÉ DÉ MOUSE, the production is leaning heavily into the internet subculture that made the original game a cult classic.
