Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway: The Sorcery Of Nymph Circe Comes to North American Theatres in May
Bandai Namco Filmworks has confirmed that the anime film Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway: The Sorcery of Nymph Circe will premiere in North American theaters on May 15, 2026.
This film serves as the second entry in a planned trilogy adapting Yoshiyuki Tomino’s Mobile Suit Gundam: Hathaway’s Flash novel series, which was originally published between 1989 and 1990.
The story is set in the Universal Century year UC0105, roughly twelve years after the events of the 1988 film Mobile Suit Gundam: Char’s Counterattack.
The narrative follows Hathaway Noa, the son of legendary commander Bright Noa, as he leads the insurgent group MAFTY against the Earth Federation’s government.
The English dub cast features Caleb Yen as Hathaway Noa, Megan Shipman as Gigi Andalucia, and Aaron Phillips as Kenneth Sleg.
Supporting voice actors include Kieran Walton as Lane Aim, Kevin Dorman as Gawman Nobile, Erica Lindbeck as Kelia Dace, Stephen Fu as Iram Masam, Dave Fennoy as Hundley Yeoksan, and Antonio Alvarez as Raymond Cain.
The production features a high-profile collaboration with the rock band Guns N’ Roses, utilizing the song Sweet Child O’ Mine as the film’s ending theme.
A special illustration for the collaboration merges iconic Gundam mobile suit designs with the classic artwork from the Appetite for Destruction album.
In Japan, where the film opened on January 30, 2026, theatergoers attending during the ninth week of release will receive a commemorative Guns N’ Roses collaboration sticker.
The film has already seen significant commercial success in Japan, earning over 25 billion yen or approximately 157 million USD within 48 days of its initial release.
This financial performance has already surpassed the 223 billion yen total gross of the first part of the trilogy released in 2021.
The plot centers on Hathaway’s internal trauma and his encounter with Gigi Andalucia as he prepares for a high stakes mission at the Adelaide Conference.
