This upcoming film follows the success of the first live-action movie, which debuted on the streaming platform on April 25, 2024.

The City Hunter franchise has a long history, including a popular anime series that ran from 1987 to 1991 and various animated films released between 1989 and 2019.

The story follows a first-class private detective and hitman who uses superhuman marksmanship to protect clients and eliminate criminals.

While the first live-action film focused on the origin story of the main duo, the sequel aims to capture the quintessential spirit of the original manga by Tsukasa Hojo.

Director Keiichiro Shiraki, known for his work on various television dramas, will take over directorial duties from Yuichi Sato.

Lead actors Ryohei Suzuki and Misato Morita are set to return to their respective roles as the skilled sweeper Ryo Saeba and his partner Kaori Makimura.

Ryohei Suzuki expressed his gratitude for the fans whose support made a second installment possible and noted that production has already commenced.
