MegaHouse to release jumbo My Melody and Kuromi “Kaitai Fantasy” figures
MegaHouse has announced new soft vinyl figures of Sanrio’s My Melody and Kuromi, which are set to become available for pre-order this July.
The new “Kaitai Puzzletion My Melody” and “Kaitai Puzzletion Kuromi” figures are based on the “Kaitai Puzzle Fantasy” concept, which reimagines the internal structures of popular characters in an artistic way.
The new soft vinyl figures are approximately 180% larger than the standard “Kaitai Puzzle Fantasy” series.
MegaHouse is a Japanese toy and figure manufacturer known for its range of premium collectibles, often featuring characters from anime, manga, and video games.
As a manufacturer of high-end anime figures, MegaHouse’s products are often copied by third parties who sell unlicensed versions of their figures.
To combat a rise in this practice, MegaHouse has recently announced a new initiative to allow fans to verify authenticity via a holographic sticker that will appear on products starting in September 2025.
My Melody and Kuromi are well-known characters from Sanrio, the Japanese company responsible for numerous popular character franchises, including Hello Kitty.
My Melody is often depicted as a cheerful and honest rabbit, while Kuromi is portrayed as her rival, with a punk-rock aesthetic and mischievous personality.
For the “Kaitai Puzzletion” figures, the characters internal structures are imagined and rendered with pearl paint, giving them a shimmering finish in pink for My Melody and purple for Kuromi.
A special “My Melody & Kuromi” set will be exclusively available through Premium Bandai.
This set will include a limited-edition sticker as a purchase bonus.
Each individual figure is priced at ¥4,180, while the set is available for ¥8,580.
Pre-orders for the “Kaitai Puzzletion My Melody/Kuromi” figures will begin on July 3rd at 10:00 AM JST on the Premium Bandai website.
Shipments are scheduled for late December 2025.
