Kuromi’s New Official Lingerie Collection Blends Subtle Sanrio Style with Everyday Comfort
Sanrio’s Kuromi has teamed up with SHIROHATO’s original MCP brand for a new lingerie collaboration that combines subtle character-inspired details with an everyday lace design.
Kuromi first debuted in 2005 as My Melody’s self-proclaimed rival, but her mischievous personality, black jester hood and surprisingly feminine side have helped make her one of Sanrio’s most popular characters around the world.
Her popularity continues to grow, with Kuromi finishing fourth in the 2026 Sanrio Character Ranking after the event attracted a record-breaking 70.6 million votes worldwide.
The collaboration was planned with the goal of creating a collection that captures Kuromi’s playful charm without making the design feel overly character-focused.
Instead of relying on large printed artwork, the collection incorporates Kuromi through small embroidered details and matching accessories that fans can spot throughout the design.
The collection consists of a Kuromi Non-Wire Bra and Shorts Set, priced at ¥2,970 (approx. $20 USD / £15 GBP), which is available in Black and Pink Beige across eight combined size options ranging from M/S to LL/LL.
The wireless bra has been designed for a lighter, more comfortable fit, while crossover ribbon detailing across the front and sheer frills beneath the cups give it a distinctive look.
One of the collection’s nicest touches is the floral lace embroidery, which cleverly hides Kuromi’s silhouette within the pattern instead of placing the character front and center.
Matching Kuromi-themed charms appear on both the bra and the accompanying shorts, helping tie the complete set together without overwhelming the overall design.
The coordinating string-style shorts continue the same lace pattern and sheer frill detailing, creating a consistent look across the full set.
The understated approach makes the collection feel more like everyday lingerie than traditional character focused undergarments that tend to rely on bold all over prints.
