KONAMI abruptly cancels the Silent Hill f official soundtrack release

SILENT HILL SOUNDTRACK

The official soundtrack for the recently released and hugely successful psychological horror game, Silent Hill f, has been officially canceled.

The announcement was made on the 16th of October, by the game’s publisher, KONAMI.

The planned release included both a standard “SILENT HILL f: ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK” and a “Konami Style Limited Analog Record Set.”

The company has stated that the release of both versions of the soundtrack has been canceled due to “various circumstances.”

According to a post on the official SILENT HILL X account, customers who had already pre-ordered the soundtrack from the official Konami Style online store will have their orders automatically canceled and will be issued a full refund.

The cancellation comes as a surprise, given the massive success of the game itself.

Silent Hill f, which was released just last month on the 25th of September for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, has already sold over one million copies worldwide.

The game is the first in the long-running horror franchise to be set in Japan.

It follows the story of a high school student named Hinako Fukamizu as she explores her hometown, which has been transformed into a horrifying and fog-shrouded nightmare.

The game’s music was composed by a team that included the legendary, long-time series composer, Akira Yamaoka, as well as Kensuke Inage, who is known for his work on the Samurai Warriors series.
