Kamen Rider Animated Project Officially Unveiled

Toei Company and Ishimori Productions officially announced the creation of “The Kamen Rider Animated,” a new animation label, during a special event held on April 3, 2026.
This launch celebrates the 55th anniversary of the iconic Kamen Rider tokusatsu superhero franchise, which first debuted in 1971.

The primary objective of the new label is to expand the reach of the series through animated works designed to attract both longtime fans and viewers unfamiliar with the franchise.
Produced by Aniplex and Shirogumi, the label’s first project will be an original work utilizing computer graphics to achieve a unique manga-inspired visual style.
These upcoming animated projects will be marketed to Japanese and international audiences, featuring a mix of brand-new stories and adaptations of previous entries in the long-running series.
Kamen Rider has grown significantly since its inception by manga author Shotaro Ishinomori, having inspired 36 television series to date.
The 37th television entry, titled Kamen Rider MY-TH, is currently scheduled to begin its broadcast in Japan in September 2026.

In addition to the new animation label, fans can look forward to the live-action crossover film Kamen Rider ZEZTZ and Super Space Sheriff Gavan Infinity Team up for W Hero Summer Movie 2026, which premieres in Japan on July 24, 2026.
While specific plot details for the first “The Kamen Rider Animated” project remain under wraps, more information is expected to be revealed at a later date.
