Gundam Wing's Altron Gundam EW Returns to the MG Gunpla Line This May

Bandai Hobby has opened pre-orders for a highly anticipated reissue of a Gunpla kit of one of Gundam Wing’s most popular mobile suits.

The “MG 1/100 Altron Gundam EW” recreates Chang Wufei’s iconic mobile suit, which he affectionately refers to as Nataku, honoring the spirit of his late wife.

Mobile Suit Gundam Wing originally aired in the mid-1990s and became a massive global success, introducing a whole new generation to the complex political drama of the mecha genre.

The Endless Waltz sequel OVA and compilation film featured breathtaking redesigns of the core mobile suits by acclaimed mechanical designer Hajime Katoki.

The Altron Gundam is a direct, heavily upgraded successor to the original Shenlong Gundam.

Unlike many mobile suits that rely on long-range beam rifles, the Altron is designed to aggressively close the distance and overwhelm opponents in brutal melee combat.

The Master Grade, or MG, line of Gunpla offers builders a highly detailed 1/100 scale assembly experience.

These premium kits feature intricate inner skeletal frames, exceptional plastic color separation, and incredible articulation compared to standard models.

Standing at approximately 18cm tall when completed, this kit perfectly captures the intimidating shelf presence of Wufei’s ultimate machine.

This model brilliantly recreates the dynamic deployment gimmick of its iconic Dragon Fang weapons.

The articulated dragon heads mounted on the arms feature a pull-out dual-axis articulation system, allowing the claws to open and close seamlessly from their folded storage position to their fully extended attack form.

To support these massive weapons, the kit includes extension arm blocks and two dedicated auxiliary display stands to help builders recreate dynamic, gravity-defying action poses.

The model also comes equipped with its signature Twin Beam Trident weapon, detailed water-slide decals for added realism, and an unpainted, same-scale miniature figure of Chang Wufei dressed in his Mariemaia Army uniform.
