Kakegurui stage play to open in Tokyo this September

A new stage play adaptation for the popular manga series Kakegurui will open in Tokyo this September.
Kakegurui, written by Homura Kawamoto and illustrated by Tōru Naomura, has been a long-running series since 2014 and has previously been adapted into an anime, a live-action drama, and live-action films.

The story is set at the Hyakkaou Private Academy, a prestigious school where a student’s social standing is determined not by academics or sports, but by their skill in high-stakes gambling.

This new stage production will bring the series’ intense psychological battles to a live audience, incorporating both singing and dancing to create a new interpretation of the story.
The lead role of the protagonist, the compulsive gambler Yumeko Jabami, will be played by Moeko Kanisawa of the idol group ≠ME, in her first solo leading stage role.

She will be joined by the actress, voice actress, and singer Moeka Koizumi as the character Mary Saotome, and the stage actor Seiichiro Nagata as Ryota Suzui.
The full announced cast is as follows:
- Moeko Kanisawa (of ≠ME) as Yumeko Jabami

- Seiichiro Nagata as Ryota Suzui

- Moeka Koizumi as Mary Saotome

- Kurisu Ohto as Midari Ikishima

- Misato Kawauchi as Itsuki Sumeragi

- Fuyuna Asakura as Yuriko Nishinotouin

- Yuika Murayama (of ≒JOY) as Yumemi Yumemite

- Momoka Satake as Runa Yomozuki

An official “Ticket Trade” service, operated by the company Tixplus, will be implemented for the event.
This service provides a secure, official platform for ticket holders who can no longer attend to resell their tickets to other fans at face value, guaranteeing the ticket’s validity and preventing scalping.
The stage play will be held at Theater H in Tokyo.
Performances are scheduled to run from Friday, the 5th of September, 2025, to Sunday, the 14th of September, 2025.
The official ticket trade period for the event began on Saturday, the 2nd of August, 2025.
