Sonic Teams Up with Soccer Team Paris Saint-Germain for Tokyo Pop-Up Event

The worlds of gaming and professional soccer are set to collide in Tokyo, as Sega has announced a brand new collaboration between Sonic the Hedgehog and the world-famous soccer club, Paris Saint-Germain.
This exciting crossover will take center stage at the upcoming “ICI C’EST PARIS La Maison Tokyo” immersive pop-up event.

The famous blue speedster is currently gearing up to celebrate his massive 35th anniversary on June 23, 2026.

Since his original debut in 1991, the fast-paced platforming series has captivated audiences across the globe.
The character has grown far beyond his gaming roots, starring in blockbuster Hollywood movies, animated television shows, and countless merchandise lines.

Paris Saint-Germain is similarly recognized worldwide for its incredible athletic talent and modern approach to sports culture.
To celebrate this unique meeting of worlds, a special new illustration featuring the speedy hedgehog wearing an official PSG uniform has been revealed.

The Tokyo-based pop-up follows highly successful runs in Los Angeles, Doha, and London, offering a unique blend of fashion, food, music, and art.
During the event, attendees will have the unique opportunity to meet and interact with both Sonic and the official Paris Saint-Germain mascot, GERMAIN, live at the venue.

Visitors will also receive a special promotional sticker featuring the exclusive crossover artwork, which is limited to one per person while supplies last.

The first floor of the venue will host a dedicated gaming area where attendees can enjoy playable stations for the newest series entry, “Sonic Racing Cross World”.
Classic arcade cabinets for “Sonic the Fighters” and the original “Virtua Striker” will also be available for retro enthusiasts to experience.

To close out the pop-up, the final day will feature a dynamic musical performance with special appearances by both mascots to hype up the crowd.
A linked campaign will also be held at the nearby SEGA STORE TOKYO, rewarding customers who spend over 1,500 yen (approx. $10 USD / £8 GBP) on goods with an exclusive acrylic coaster featuring the collaboration artwork.

The “ICI C’EST PARIS La Maison Tokyo” pop-up event will officially run from Saturday, May 2, to Tuesday, May 5, 2026.
Doors will be open from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM each day at the MEDIA DEPARTMENT TOKYO venue in Shibuya.

General admission is completely free, though as the event is likely to be busy, the organizers are recommending pre-registering via their official website to ensure smooth entry.

The linked coaster campaign will take place during the exact same dates at the SEGA STORE TOKYO, located a short walk away inside the Shibuya PARCO building.
