Studio Ghibli Turns a Tiny Kiki’s Delivery Service Detail Into an Adorable New Jiji Mini Lamp

Studio Ghibli is turning a small piece of Kiki’s Delivery Service’s world into a functional new light, with Jiji sitting beside a lamp inspired directly by the movie.
Donguri Closet’s exclusive new “Kiki’s Delivery Service Mini Lamp – Gazing Jiji” recreates a small lamp found in Osono’s home, placing Kiki’s black cat companion beside it as he stares up toward the light.

In Kiki’s Delivery Service, Osono becomes one of Kiki’s first sources of support after the young witch arrives in the seaside city of Koriko, giving her somewhere to stay while she establishes the delivery business that becomes central to her new life.

Jiji accompanies Kiki throughout that transition, with his reactions to the people and situations around them making him one of the movie’s most enduring characters and a frequent focus of Studio Ghibli merchandise.

The lamp itself takes inspiration from an old-fashioned oil lamp, with a rounded glass upper section and a ceramic-like body covered in brightly colored flowers.

Jiji sits alongside it on a warm-toned base decorated with delicate plant details, giving the entire piece an antique appearance that fits naturally with the setting of the movie.

The design is also fully functional rather than purely decorative, with a touch sensor allowing the light to be switched on and off by touching the lamp once the main switch underneath the base has been activated.

Standing approximately 12.8cm tall, the compact light is made from polyester resin, glass and ABS, allowing it to work as a small interior display even when it isn’t illuminated.

The new lamp follows another functional Jiji home accessory that returned earlier this month, when Studio Ghibli restocked its Kiki’s Delivery Service humidifier depicting the black cat beside a breakfast spread as mist rises from a red mug.

Studio Ghibli’s official retail presence also expanded into the US earlier this year when Donguri Republic opened its first American pop-up store, although no US release has currently been announced for the new Jiji lamp.

The “Donguri Closet Exclusive Kiki’s Delivery Service Mini Lamp – Gazing Jiji” will be released in Japan on October 31, 2026 through Donguri Closet sections at participating Donguri Republic stores and the official Sora no Ue online store, priced at ¥13,200 (approx. $84 USD / £63 GBP).
