Huge demand leads to second round of pre-orders for Mobile Suit Gundam F91 model kit
Bandai Spirits has commenced a second round of pre-orders for the “RE/100 1/100 Den’an Gei,” the first-ever Gunpla model kit of the mobile suit from the classic anime film “Mobile Suit Gundam F91.”
The initial pre-order period, which began on September 4th, was met with an immediate sell-out due to overwhelming demand.
A second pre-order window has now been opened and is expected to accommodate the high level of interest from collectors and fans.
The Den’an Gei is a mass-produced mobile suit used by the Crossbone Vanguard, the main antagonist force in “Mobile Suit Gundam F91.”
The film, released in 1991, marked a shift in the “Gundam” franchise, introducing a new era in the Universal Century timeline with a focus on smaller, more streamlined mobile suit designs.
Despite its status as a “grunt suit,” the Den’an Gei is a fan-favorite for its sleek design, which is emblematic of the film’s aesthetic.
The RE/100 (Reborn-One Hundred) series is a line of 1/100 scale Gunpla model kits designed by Bandai to provide a balance between the highly detailed and complex Master Grade (MG) kits and the simpler High Grade (HG) kits.
RE/100 kits often feature mobile suits that are too large, too obscure, or not popular enough to justify the more complex engineering of a full MG release.
The kits maintain a high level of external detail but simplify the internal frame, making them more accessible and cost-effective for a wider range of builders.
For this release, the Den’an Gei’s design has been revamped to more accurately reflect its appearance in the series.
The kit offers a high degree of articulation, allowing builders to recreate dynamic poses from the film.
It also includes several key features and accessories, enhancing its appeal to collectors.
The cockpit hatch comes with two distinct patterns, one based on its original setting and another reflecting its look in the film, giving builders the freedom to choose their preferred aesthetic.
The kit also includes “parade covers” for the soles of the feet, a small detail that further enhances its authenticity.
Its arsenal includes a beam rifle, a beam shield, a beam saber, and arm-mounted beam guns, providing multiple display options.
The “RE/100 1/100 Den’an Gei” kit is being offered exclusively through Premium Bandai and is priced at 3,300 yen (approx. $22 USD/£17 GBP).
The second round of pre-orders is now open, and orders are scheduled to ship in December 2025.
