Good Smile’s Classic Steins;Gate Kurisu Figure Returns as a Model Kit

Good Smile Company has opened pre-orders for the latest addition to its growing Reincarnation model kit series, bringing Steins;Gate fan-favorite Makise Kurisu back in a brand-new buildable format.
The new release continues the unique line’s mission of transforming classic PVC figures into model kits while carefully preserving the original sculpt that made them so popular with collectors.

Good Smile’s Reincarnation series has quickly become popular among collectors by giving long-discontinued PVC figures a second life as high-quality model kits while preserving the artistry of the original releases.

Makise Kurisu is one of Steins;Gate’s central characters, a brilliant neuroscientist who returned to Japan after studying in the United States before becoming Future Gadget Laboratory member No. 004 after discovering Rintaro Okabe’s experimental time machine.

Known for her intelligence, determined personality and tsundere charm, Kurisu gradually becomes Okabe’s closest ally and emotional support as the pair struggle through countless time loops in the critically acclaimed science-fiction adventure.

The new kit is based directly on the beloved 1/8-scale Makise Kurisu PVC figure originally released in 2012, recreating the classic design in a buildable format without altering its appearance.

Good Smile Company has utilized the original 3D sculpting data and modern metal mold technology to reverse-engineer the figure into a model kit while maintaining the proportions and fine details of the original release.
Original sculptor Hironori Tokunaga has also returned to oversee the prototype, helping ensure the finished kit faithfully captures every aspect of the original collectible.

The completed model accurately recreates Kurisu’s slender silhouette and signature outfit while making assembly accessible through multi-colored molded parts, pre-painted components, and water-slide decals that eliminate much of the need for additional painting.

Collectors can also choose between two different face options, with one featuring factory-printed eyes and another including unpainted face parts accompanied by eye decals for builders who prefer to apply the details themselves.

Standing approximately 21 cm tall, the completed Makise Kurisu model delivers the same impressive display presence as the original figure while offering fans the satisfaction of assembling it themselves.

The Reincarnation Makise Kurisu model kit is priced at ¥7,500 (approx. $51 USD / £38 GBP), with pre-orders now available through reputable hobby goods retailers such as HobbyLink Japan ahead of its scheduled December 2026 release.
