Godzilla Minus Zero is getting an appropriately enormous range of theater merchandise for its upcoming US release, headlined by a full-body Godzilla popcorn bucket measuring almost 50 cm tall.

The new “GODZILLA MINUS ZERO Popcorn Bucket” recreates Takashi Yamazaki’s latest version of the King of the Monsters as a detailed three-dimensional figure, with its popcorn compartment hidden inside Godzilla’s back rather than using a conventional open-top container.

Godzilla Minus Zero is the direct sequel to 2023’s Academy Award-winning Godzilla Minus One, with Yamazaki returning as director, screenwriter and visual effects supervisor for another story set in post-war Japan.

The sequel takes place two years after the events of the previous movie, as the country continues struggling to rebuild before another catastrophic threat brings that fragile recovery to an end.

It is also the first Japanese production filmed specifically for IMAX, with the movie scheduled to open in Japan on November 3 before beginning its wide North American theatrical release on November 6.

The giant popcorn bucket was initially shown publicly by Brazilian distributor SATO Company at EXPOCINE in São Paulo before details of its planned US availability began appearing through theater chains including Alamo Drafthouse and Cinemark.

The completed container measures approximately 49.5 cm tall, 43.2 cm wide and 55.9 cm long, with Godzilla standing upright on two legs as his large tail extends behind the main body.

Its sculpt recreates the movie’s updated Godzilla with an open mouth, heavily textured skin and rows of jagged dorsal fins, making the finished container closer in appearance to an oversized display figure than a traditional popcorn bucket.

An opening across the monster’s back provides access to an approximately 85-ounce popcorn compartment inside the body.

Promotional material briefly shared by Cinemark revealed three Godzilla Minus Zero concession collectibles built around the new movie:

  • “3D Godzilla Popcorn Bucket”

Uses the huge full-body Godzilla sculpt measuring approximately 49.5 cm tall, with popcorn stored through the opening in the creature’s back.

Cinemark’s promotional material shows the bucket being supplied with an XL popcorn served separately.

  • “Heat Ray Drink Bottle”

Recreates Godzilla’s head with a transparent blue heat-ray-shaped bottle extending upward from his open jaws.

A straw emerges from the top of the atomic-breath effect, with the collectible shown alongside a large drink.

  • “Popcorn Tin”

Offers a more conventional alternative to the giant sculpted bucket, with Godzilla Minus Zero branding displayed across artwork featuring dark storm clouds.

The same Cinemark material indicated that all three items would include one free same-day refill, excluding ICEEs, and would be offered at selected theaters while supplies last.

Cinemark subsequently removed its social media posts relating to the collection, leaving the exact on-sale date and individual prices unconfirmed at the time of writing.

Alamo Drafthouse also briefly listed the “GODZILLA MINUS ZERO Popcorn Bucket” for online pre-order at $90, with estimated shipping from November 6.

That AlamoMart product page has since been removed, and it is currently unclear whether the initial allocation sold out or whether the listing appeared ahead of its intended announcement.

With both retailers pulling back information shortly after it surfaced, it appears possible that some US theater details were published earlier than planned, although neither Alamo Drafthouse nor Cinemark has confirmed why the pages and posts were removed.

The giant bucket was produced by Golden Link, the manufacturer behind the enormous Galactus popcorn container created for The Fantastic Four: First Steps, which received a Guinness World Record in 2025 based on its popcorn capacity.

Godzilla’s new container is physically taller than the Galactus release, although its internal capacity is considerably smaller, meaning claims that it is now the world’s largest popcorn bucket will be subject to how this is determined by Guinness.

The new theater collectibles join Bandai’s upcoming “S.H.MonsterArts Godzilla (2026),” another release based directly on the redesigned creature from Godzilla Minus Zero and created using the movie’s official 3D production models as reference.

Godzilla Minus Zero has already received other US-exclusive promotional merchandise ahead of release, including a limited-edition bobblehead distributed during the Los Angeles Dodgers’ Godzilla Minus Zero Night in September.
