Gears of War: E-Day Confirmed for October Release on Xbox and PC

Xbox Game Studios and developer The Coalition have announced that Gears of War: E-Day will be released on October 6 for Xbox Series consoles and PC through both Steam and the Microsoft Store.
The game will also be available to subscribers through the Game Pass service from launch.
Although a PlayStation 5 version was recently listed by the Pan European Game Information ratings board, Xbox executive Asha Sharma stated that the title will launch as an Xbox console exclusive.
Industry reporter Jeff Grubb noted that the decision regarding platform availability appears to have been made only recently.
Players who pre-order the game will receive access to an open beta scheduled to begin on August 6.
Pre-order customers will also unlock the Exfil Dom Character Skin and the Exfil Weapon Skin Set for use when the full game becomes available.
Serving as a prequel to the original Gears of War, the story takes place fourteen years before the events of the first game.
The campaign follows Marcus Fenix and Dominic Santiago during the catastrophic events of Emergence Day, the moment when the Locust Horde first erupts from beneath the surface.
The narrative focuses on humanity’s struggle to survive as the sudden invasion plunges the world into chaos and war.
According to the official description, players will experience the origins of the conflict through a story-driven campaign that explores the horror, violence, and desperation surrounding the Locust emergence.
A newly released gameplay demonstration trailer has also been unveiled, providing a fresh look at the third-person shooter in action.
Gears of War: E-Day is scheduled to launch on October 6 for Xbox Series and PC, with Game Pass availability included from day one, while pre-orders grant access to the August 6 open beta and bonus in-game cosmetic content.
