NANA’s Ai Yazawa Launches New Official Contact Lens Collection

A brand-new collaboration is celebrating the timeless heroines created by legendary manga artist Ai Yazawa, transforming some of her most beloved characters into a stylish collection of color contact lenses inspired by their unforgettable personalities and expressions.
Ai Yazawa is one of Japan’s most celebrated manga creators, with works including NANA, Neighborhood Story, Tenshi Nanka Ja Nai and Paradise Kiss continuing to attract fans around the world thanks to their memorable characters, distinctive fashion and emotional storytelling.

The new collection features five lens colors based on heroines from four of Yazawa’s most iconic series, with each design carefully created to capture the atmosphere, emotions and unique charm reflected in each character’s eyes while remaining suitable for everyday wear.

Representing NANA, the Veil Black design inspired by Nana Osaki reflects the singer’s strong yet fragile personality through a black outer ring accented with soft gray highlights that create a striking but elegant gaze, while its 13.5 mm colored diameter offers noticeable definition without looking unnatural.

Also from NANA, the Drop Pink design inspired by Nana Komatsu creates a gentle, sweet appearance using a delicate pink outer ring layered with soft brown tones to recreate warm, expressive eyes, with a 13.5 mm colored diameter adding natural depth and softness.

Neighborhood Story heroine Mikako Koda inspires the Dolly Brown design, which pairs a doll-like brown outer ring with bright rose-brown highlights to create lively, dreamlike eyes full of optimism and energy, while maintaining a 13.5 mm colored diameter.

Midori Saejima from Tenshi Nanka Ja Nai serves as the inspiration for Glow Olive, blending an olive-gray outer ring with light olive highlights to produce a bright, refreshing look designed to convey kindness and warmth, with a 13.5 mm colored diameter providing balanced definition.

Paradise Kiss heroine Yukari Hayasaka rounds out the lineup with Muse Blue, featuring a blue-black outer ring combined with pale blue highlights to create a calm, intelligent appearance with quiet confidence, while its slightly smaller 13.3 mm colored diameter produces a more subtle finish.

Each box, priced at ¥1,870 (approx. $13 USD / £9 GBP), contains 10 daily disposable lenses with UV protection that blocks more than 50% of UV-A rays and approximately 95% of UV-B rays, while moisturizing MPC Polymer has also been incorporated to improve wearing comfort throughout the day.
Fans purchasing the collection can also receive a range of exclusive collaboration bonuses, including a special Ai Yazawa-themed Membership Card with every qualifying purchase that recreates the membership cards carried by the heroines and includes a keychain for displaying on bags or pouches.

Customers who purchase five boxes will also receive a collaboration-exclusive Compact Mirror featuring one of five heroine-inspired charms, while those purchasing 10 boxes will receive a Jewelry Bag sized to hold 10 contact lens boxes together with five interchangeable heroine charms and a pendant that allows the included illustrations to be swapped out.

Pre-orders for the collection open through the Urumia Official Online Shop from July 29, 2026, at 8:00 PM, with shipments scheduled to begin from late August 2026.

To celebrate the collaboration, Urumia will also host dedicated pop-up stores at Laforet Harajuku in Tokyo from August 19 through August 31, 2026, and at Shinsaibashi PARCO in Osaka from September 5 through September 13, 2026, with selected entry times requiring advance reservations through the official online store.
