Gachiakuta anime officially renewed for season two following first season finale
The anime adaptation of Kei Urana’s Gachiakuta is set to continue.
The production staff announced on Monday that a second season has been greenlit, timing the reveal to coincide with the conclusion of the first season’s broadcast.
To commemorate the renewal, original manga creator Kei Urana and the series’ credited graffiti designer, Hideyoshi Ando, both released special illustrations.
Animation production will continue at Studio BONES, which helmed the first season under the direction of Fumihiko Suganuma.
The series features scripts by Hiroshi Seko and character designs by Satoshi Ishino, who also serves as chief animation director.
The story follows Rudo, a boy from a floating town who is falsely accused of murder and cast into the abyss below.
Surviving the fall, he joins a group known as the Cleaners to battle trash beasts and seek vengeance against those who exiled him.
The series stars Aoi Ichikawa as Rudo, alongside Katsuyuki Konishi, Yoshitsugu Matsuoka, and Yumiri Hanamori.
The first season of the anime premiered in Japan on July 6, with Crunchyroll streaming the series internationally in multiple territories, including North America, Europe, and Oceania.
The manga runs in Kodansha’s Weekly Shōnen Magazine and recently released its 17th compiled volume on November 17.
While Gachiakuta is a Kodansha property, this announcement follows a massive weekend of news from Shueisha’s Jump Festa ’26 event.
Major updates from the convention included the confirmation that Chainsaw Man will adapt the Assassins Arc, One Piece will enter the Elbaph Arc in April 2026, and the final part of Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War is scheduled for July 2026.
Black Clover and Blue Box also confirmed 2026 release windows for their next seasons, while DAN DA DAN and Mashle: Magic and Muscles are set to return in 2027.
Additionally, Sakamoto Days was renewed for a second season, My Hero Academia announced a 10th Anniversary bonus episode, and World Trigger fans got the first look at a “Reboot Project” starting from the series’ beginning.
