FlatOut 4: Total Insanity VR Hits SteamVR Early Access on April 23

Flat2VR Studios and Strategy First have officially announced that FlatOut 4: Total Insanity VR is scheduled to launch in Early Access for SteamVR on April 23, 2026.
This upcoming release marks the return of the demolition racing franchise, specifically rebuilt to leverage the immersion of virtual reality technology.
Following the initial Early Access phase on PC, the developers plan to provide a full release across multiple platforms including PlayStation VR2, SteamVR, and Meta Quest.
The VR edition of FlatOut 4: Total Insanity incorporates high-speed racing and intense collisions across 20 dynamic tracks that feature traditional derby racing, time trials, and assault levels.
Players will have the opportunity to unlock and customize 27 different vehicles, including new additions to the garage and various tributes to classic cars from previous installments.
The game features 12 stunts in its legendary Stunt Mode, consisting of six completely new challenges and six re-imagined mini-games designed for those seeking high-impact maneuvers.
Competitive options include an Arena Mode with Death Match, Capture the Flag, and Survivor styles, alongside a new Assault Mode that equips players with an arsenal of weapons to disrupt opponents.
The title supports both single-player offline modes and multiplayer mayhem for up to eight participants to compete in various arenas and race courses.
For local social play, a Hot Seat Mode allows friends and family to take turns competing in specific stunt challenges.
The experience is rounded out by a high-energy indie soundtrack featuring over 35 music tracks from a global range of artists.
