The project marks the return of the original core creative team, including director Seiji Mizushima and acclaimed screenwriter Gen Urobuchi of NITROPLUS.

Character designs are once again being handled by Masatsugu Saito, while the mechanical designs are provided by a collaborative team of Kanetake Ebikawa, Junya Ishigaki, and Takayuki Yanase.

NARASAKI returns to compose the music for the feature, which follows up on the story of Angela Balzac and the virtual reality world of Deva.

In addition to the cinematic release, an official announcement confirmed that a new Expelled from Paradise video game is currently in development.

The game is expected to feature an original story within the franchise’s science fiction universe and has been penciled in for a winter 2026 launch.

More specific details regarding the gameplay and platform for the video game are expected to be shared closer to the film’s November 13, 2026 premiere.

The original 2014 film was notable for its use of full 3D CG animation and its exploration of themes regarding digital consciousness and organic life.

International fans may recall that Aniplex of America previously brought the first installment to US theaters for a limited run in December 2014 following its Japanese debut.
