Bandai Brings Gundam 00’s HG Black Plutone Gunpla Kit Back to the US for Premium Bandai Week 2026

The “HG 1/144 GUNDAM PLUTONE BLACK” joins a large selection of exclusive Gunpla kits, figures, and other collectibles returning for Premium Bandai Week 2026, which also offers a temporary reduction to the usual free-shipping threshold.

Gundam Plutone Black originates from Mobile Suit Gundam 00F, a manga spin-off of Mobile Suit Gundam 00 that expands upon the history of Celestial Being and its secret Gundam development programs.

The series follows the activities of Fereshte, a support organization connected to Celestial Being, and introduces several experimental Mobile Suits and characters whose stories intersect with the events of the original anime.

Plutone Black is a recreated version of the original Gundam Plutone, one of Celestial Being’s second-generation experimental Gundams, which was developed before the introduction of machines such as Exia, Dynames, and Kyrios.

The black version was produced by the Innovators using design data stored within Veda and piloted by Bring Stabity, who later appears in the Gundam 00 anime as the pilot of the Garazzo.

Unlike its predecessor, Plutone Black uses a GN Drive Tau and can generate a stable GN Field, giving the machine additional defensive capabilities.
Bandai originally released the exclusive High Grade kit in June 2025, recreating the Mobile Suit’s dark appearance at 1/144 scale.

Based on the earlier “HG 1/144 Gundam Plutone” from 2020, the model replaces the original machine’s white and red coloring with black armor, gray detailing, and translucent purple components.
The new colors are reproduced through separately molded parts, including the cockpit section and GN Condensers, with additional foil stickers provided for smaller details.

One of the kit’s most interesting features is its detachable Core Fighter, which serves as an emergency escape system for the Gundam’s pilot and GN Drive.
Builders can remove the cockpit section and rear-mounted GN Drive from the Mobile Suit, then combine them with dedicated components to recreate the Core Fighter’s independent flight configuration.

The separated craft also features movable wings and can be mounted on a separately sold Action Base for display.
Another major feature is the network of GN particle supply cables running between the machine’s shoulders, arms, and lower body, which are recreated using flexible material to accommodate its articulated joints.

The forearm armor can also be opened to provide additional clearance when posing the Gundam with its weapons.
Its equipment includes a GN Beam Rifle, GN Shield, and two GN Beam Sabers, with the latter stored inside the Mobile Suit’s knee armor when not in use.

Both long and short beam effect parts are included, allowing builders to recreate standard sword attacks or shorter dagger-style weapons, with enough effects to equip both hands simultaneously.

Gundam 00F’s experimental Mobile Suits have also received attention through other exclusive Gunpla releases, including the “MG 1/100 Gundam Astraea + Proto GN Twin Broad Blade,” which is currently among 19 kits featured in Premium Bandai US’s Fan Favorite Voting 2026 campaign.

The Astraea kit recreates another of Celestial Being’s early experimental Gundams with its specialized Proto GN Twin Broad Blade equipment, with fans now able to vote for it to potentially receive a new production run.

Other Gundam 00 kits returning to the US during Premium Bandai Week include the “PG 1/60 Trans-Am Raiser,” which recreates Setsuna F. Seiei’s powerful combined Mobile Suit with its activated red coloring, illuminated GN Drives, and extensive weapon selection.
