Atlus kicks off Persona’s 30th anniversary year with new artwork and website

Atlus has officially opened a special teaser website to commemorate the upcoming 30th anniversary of the Persona role-playing game series.
This milestone celebration honors the franchise’s long history, which began with the release of Revelations: Persona (Megami Ibunroku Persona) on September 20, 1996.

The series has since evolved from a niche spin-off of Shin Megami Tensei into a global juggernaut known for its stylish UI, social simulation mechanics, and acid-jazz soundtracks.
The centerpiece of the newly launched website is a spectacular “30th Anniversary Key Visual” illustrated by long-time character designer Shigenori Soejima.

The artwork features a dream lineup of the series’ protagonists standing together, bridging the gap between the classic and modern eras of the franchise.
Fans can see the heroes from the original Persona, the Persona 2 duology, and the modern hits Persona 3, 4, and 5 all rendered in Soejima’s signature style.

This major gaming announcement contributes to an incredibly active start to 2026 for Japanese pop culture enthusiasts.
Collectors and fans are already managing their wallets following the recent reveal of the JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure x glamb fashion line, which features vintage rock inspired pieces.

Additionally, the Tokyo Ghoul collaboration with apparel brand Favorite has just opened for pre-orders, offering another range of premium character-inspired clothing.

Just as those fashion lines celebrate the history of their respective series, this Persona anniversary project aims to honor the legacy of Atlus’s RPGs.
While the website is currently in a “pre-open” state, the community is already buzzing with anticipation regarding upcoming titles.
Fans are particularly eager for updates on the Persona 4 remake, which was confirmed as being in production back in June 2025.

Many are hoping this anniversary year will bring a concrete release date for the project, which is titled “Persona 4 Revival”.
Speculation also remains high regarding the potential official reveal of the long-awaited mainline entry, Persona 6.
Concrete details are scarce, but the 30th anniversary website explicitly features the text “NEXT UPDATE: 2026.01.08,” indicating that more substantial news is imminent.
Fans should mark their calendars for Thursday, January 8, 2026, to see what Atlus has in store for this landmark year.
