Ado Announces Second Cover Album as Global Fan Vote Opens to Select the Tracklist
Japanese singer Ado has announced plans for a new cover album, giving fans a direct role in deciding which songs will be included on the release.
The 23-year-old artist, who has maintained her anonymity despite becoming one of Japan’s most successful contemporary singers, revealed the project on June 12.
Over the course of her career, Ado has built a massive following through hit songs, major live performances, and appearances at high-profile events, including the prestigious Kohaku Uta Gassen.
The newly announced record will be titled Ado’s Utattemita Album Vol. 2 and will serve as the follow-up to her first covers collection released in 2023.
That earlier album was also built around fan participation, with listeners helping determine the selection of songs that Ado would reinterpret in her own style.
Three years later, the concept is returning, with fans once again being invited to influence the final tracklist through an online voting campaign.
Participants can submit requests for virtually any song they would like to hear Ado perform, spanning genres such as J-Pop, Vocaloid music, and even international hits.
To take part, fans must visit the dedicated voting website, choose the appropriate song category, and then enter both the title of the song and the name of the original artist before submitting their entry.
The voting period runs from June 12 through June 21, 2026.
Only one submission is permitted per person throughout the campaign.
The organizers have stated that entries containing false information may be deemed invalid and removed from consideration.
Anyone under the age of 18 is required to obtain permission from a parent or legal guardian before participating, and submission of a vote is considered confirmation that such consent has been granted.
The company has also noted that it will not respond to inquiries regarding vote totals or results.
Once a vote has been submitted, it cannot be edited or changed, making it important for participants to verify their choices before finalizing them.
Fans are encouraged to suggest songs they have long hoped to hear Ado cover, whether those selections come from classic Japanese pop music, popular Vocaloid tracks, or well-known songs from overseas artists.
Ado’s Utattemita Album Vol. 2 is currently scheduled for release during the winter of 2026, although pricing and additional product details have not yet been announced.
