Tokyo’s Yoyogi Park is set to host the Matcha Green Tea Marche, a two-day celebration dedicated to the rich flavors and traditions of Japan’s most famous powdered tea.
The event will gather nine specialty tea vendors from across the country, offering a wide selection of matcha products from premier tea-growing regions.
Visitors will have the opportunity to sample authentic tea preparations and explore creative culinary uses for the ingredient, including matcha-infused alcoholic drinks, artisanal sweets, and a rare savory matcha curry.
In addition to food and beverages, the market will feature essential equipment for tea enthusiasts such as handmade whisks and bowls, alongside ceremonial-grade powders for home use.
Interactive workshops will allow guests to deepen their appreciation for the craft, with Fukuoka’s Hoshino Tea Farm leading a session on traditional matcha preparation.
A unique calligraphy experience supported by Shizuoka’s Marushichi Tea will also be available, utilizing tea that falls outside of commercial sales standards to promote sustainable upcycling practices.
The event is open to the public with no admission fee, though attendees should bring currency for individual purchases and participation in hands-on activities.
The venue at Yoyogi Park Event Square is conveniently located a five-minute walk from Harajuku Station on the JR Yamanote Line, with additional access via Meijijingumae and Yoyogi-Koen Stations.
