Witch Watch anime confirms second season following finale

A second season has been officially confirmed for the television anime adaptation of the manga series Witch Watch.
The announcement was made at the end of the final episode of the anime’s first season, which aired on the 5th of October.
Witch Watch is based on the manga by Kenta Shinohara, the acclaimed creator of the hit series Sket Dance and Astra Lost in Space.

The story is a fantasy romantic comedy that follows Morihito Otogi, a boy with the strength of an ogre, who is tasked with becoming the familiar and protector of his childhood friend, the teenage witch Nico Wakatsuki.

The first season of the anime was directed by Hiroshi Ikehata at Bibury Animation Studio.
It was a two-part series, with the first half premiering in April and the second in June.

The series has been a major international success, with a wide global streaming release on platforms such as Crunchyroll and Netflix.
The anime has also received a full English dub, as well as dubs in a number of other languages.
This new announcement confirms that the story of Nico and her ogre familiar will continue.

Further details regarding new cast members and a potential release window for the second season have not yet been announced.
