The Quintessential Quintuplets fantasy RPG coming to consoles later this year

MAGES. has revealed its latest project for “The Quintessential Quintuplets” franchise: a brand new console game titled Gotōbun no Princess: Gensō to Shinen to Mahō Gakuin (The Quintessential Princesses: Fantasy, the Abyss, and a Magic Academy).

This “heart-throbbing dungeon role-playing game” marks the fourth console title in the popular series and is scheduled to launch in Japan on September 18th for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch.

This upcoming game takes a unique spin on the familiar story, transporting protagonist Fūtarō Uesugi and the Nakano quintuplets into a fantasy setting.

Players will experience a new story featuring the Quintuplets in a fantasy setting

The narrative envisions Uesugi as a student attending a magic academy who takes on a tutoring job to supplement his income. His new role places him as a private tutor for the quintuplet daughters of a noble family serving the monarchy.

MAGES. has a strong history with the franchise, having developed all previous console games.

Their past contributions include the visual novels The Quintessential Quintuplets: Memories of a Quintessential Summer (released in March 2021) and The Quintessential Quintuplets: Five Memories Spent With You (released in June 2022), the latter being an adaptation of the anime film sequel, The Quintessential Quintuplets the Movie.

Players will have to help the Quintuplets navigate the new fantasy world

Spike Chunsoft brought the first two of these visual novels to English-speaking audiences on May 23rd, releasing them on PS4, Switch, and PC via Steam.

MAGES.’ third original console game in the franchise, Gotōbun no Hanayome: Kanojo to Kawasu Itsutsu no Yakusoku (The Quintessential Quintuplets: Five Promises Exchanged With Five Girls), was released in Japan in September 2023 for PS4 and Switch.

Classic RPG gameplay can be expected from the new Quintessential Quintuplets game by MAGES.

MAGES. also developed Gotōbun no Hanayome: Goto Pazu Story and its sequel. These console games are adaptations of the story sections from the Gotōbun no Hanayome: Itsutsugo-chan wa Puzzle wo Gotōbun Dekinai. smartphone puzzle game.

The first console version launched in June 2023, followed by Gotōbun no Hanayome: Goto Pazu Story 2nd in October 2024, which covers the anime’s second season and the second year of the original mobile game’s narrative.

You’ll need to take on a series of quests to raise the level of each Quintuplet

The “The Quintessential Quintuplets” anime series premiered its first season in January 2019, followed by the second season from January to March 2021. The Quintessential Quintuplets the Movie, serving as the story’s conclusion, debuted in Japanese cinemas in May 2022 and was later screened in North America by Crunchyroll in December 2022.
