The NANA x Vivienne Westwood collab is finally here after 25 years

Vivienne Westwood is officially celebrating the 25th anniversary of the iconic manga NANA with an exclusive capsule collection and a limited-edition version of the manga.

The “Vivienne Westwood x NANA” collection is a partnership with VIZ Media, under license from Shueisha, based on the legendary work by Ai Yazawa.

NANA is a best-selling manga series that tells the story of two 20-year-old women who share the same name.

The two Nanas, Nana Osaki, a punk singer seeking fame, and Nana Komatsu, a hopeful romantic, meet by chance on a train to Tokyo and become roommates in Apartment 707.

The series became a cultural phenomenon for its mature and realistic portrayal of friendship, love, and the harsh realities of adulthood, as well as its deep connection to the punk music and fashion scenes.

Ai Yazawa, a former fashion student, famously drew her characters in iconic Vivienne Westwood pieces, making the brand synonymous with the manga’s rebellious aesthetic.

The NANA manga has been on an indefinite hiatus since 2009 due to Ai Yazawa’s health, making this new official collaboration a major event for its dedicated global fanbase.

The capsule collection is built around the “ultra-femininity” of Nana Komatsu (Hachi) and the “punk edge” of Nana Osaki.

It features contemporary updates to archival Westwood pieces, reinterpreting them through the lens of the manga’s world.

The Vivienne Westwood x NANA capsule collection is scheduled to launch on Friday, November 14, 2025.
