Super Mario S.H.Figuarts action figures set to return after 10 years
After an absence of nearly a decade, the popular S.H.Figuarts action figure line based on the Super Mario series is officially making a return, according to an announcement from Bandai Spirits.
The announcement was made through the company’s official “Tamashii Nations” social media account on the platform X.
S.H.Figuarts is a collector-focused line of premium action figures, known for a high degree of articulation that allows for a wide range of dynamic posing, as well as character-accurate sculpting and a variety of accessories.
This revival brings back a popular series of figures that was first released approximately a decade ago, starting with the original “S.H.Figuarts Mario” in May of 2014.
That original line was praised by collectors for being one of the first and most comprehensive series of highly-articulated figures based on the iconic Nintendo characters.
The new announcement confirms that the core characters from that initial run will be made available for purchase once again.
This includes the main hero, Mario, as well as his brother Luigi, their faithful companion Yoshi, and their arch-nemesis, Bowser.
In addition to the main character figures, the announcement also stated that various accessory and enemy sets will be re-released.
These sets, which included items like Goombas, coins, and the iconic green Warp Pipes, were originally designed to allow collectors to build and create their own diorama-style scenes.
The return of this line provides fans and collectors who missed the original release a new opportunity to acquire these sought-after figures.
Further details regarding the full product lineup, any potential updates to the figures, as well as their pricing and specific release dates, have not yet been announced.
