Classic Musha Gundam Model Kit Gets a Modern Revival

Bandai Spirits has officially opened pre-orders for a new plastic model kit based on the Gundam “SD Sengokuden” series.
The “Original SD Gundam World Musha Gundam” brings back a beloved retro design from the 1990s with modern updates.

The protagonist of the historical spin-off series “SD Sengokuden”, Musha Gundam, is a skilled martial artist and a member of the Gundam Army’s strongest unit, the Musha Seven.

As the son of General Gundam, the army’s second-in-command, he grew up concealing his identity as a farmer’s son, eventually earning the deep trust of the people.

After achieving countless merits fighting against the Dark Army, he became the new leader of the Gundam Army, the Third Generation Gundam Daishogun, in the Fuurinkazan Arc.

To recreate the original model kit, Bandai Spirits has utilized the latest scanning technology, bringing the classic product back to life with brand new molds.

The molded colors of the parts, including black, white, red, and yellow, remain entirely identical to the original retro design.

This updated version features yellow parts upgraded to hard plastic, and the ear-like flaps on both sides of the helmet are conveniently pre-painted.

It also includes newly designed face parts that can be freely interchanged according to preference.

Both face options come with a choice of eye stickers, allowing fans to display the figure either with pupils or without.

The heroic mobile suit can wield a variety of included weapon accessories, such as the Nichirinmaru katana, the Hishijū Shield, and the Naginata Bushin.

This model faithfully reproduces the classic gimmicks, allowing the shield to transform into an eagle-type flying machine, while the front skirt armor can open to reveal an internal cannon.

When fully assembled, the ABS-constructed model stands at approximately 8 cm tall.

The “Original SD Gundam World Musha Gundam” model kit is priced at 5,500 yen (approx. $36 USD / £28 GBP).

Pre-orders began on Friday, May 1, 2026, and will remain open until Sunday, May 31, 2026, via Premium Bandai.
Shipping for this model kit is currently scheduled for September 2026.
