Pokémon Brings Back Its Original Ghost Trio for Spooky New Official Statue

Pokémon is giving one of its original evolutionary families a new premium statue, with Gengar, Gastly and Haunter all appearing in the same supernatural display.
The new “Gengar Diorama” from Sideshow Collectibles places all three Pokémon beneath the twisted branches of a dead tree as they emerge from swirling spectral fog.
Gastly, Haunter and Gengar have been part of the franchise since Pokémon Red and Green introduced the original 151 Pokémon in 1996, forming one of the games’ earliest Ghost-type evolutionary lines.
Gastly evolves into Haunter as it grows stronger, while the original games required Trainers to trade Haunter with another player to complete its evolution into Gengar, making the trio closely associated with Pokémon’s early emphasis on trading between players.
All three retain the Ghost/Poison typing they carried in the original games, with Gengar becoming one of the franchise’s most enduring Ghost-type Pokémon across the games, anime and wider merchandise.
That popularity has remained particularly visible throughout Pokémon’s 30th anniversary year, with Gengar recently taking a leading role in Pokémon Center’s Halloween 2026 collection across apparel, sleepwear and other seasonal merchandise.
Gastly, Haunter and Gengar were also each given their own designs in Pokémon and adidas’ 30th anniversary sneaker collection, allowing the complete evolutionary line to appear across three separate pairs.
Sideshow’s new diorama instead places the full evolutionary line in a single scene, with Gastly floating through the spectral effects while Haunter and Gengar appear to leap forward from beneath the tree.
Their colorful designs are based on the Pokémon anime, contrasting with the more realistic textures used across the surrounding rocks, moss and bark.
The twisted tree forms the centerpiece of the environment around them, while translucent-looking trails of ghostly fog weave through the scene to connect the three Pokémon visually.
Standing approximately 36.8cm tall, the polystone statue measures around 23.3cm wide and 23.7cm deep, giving the trio a substantial display without pushing the piece into life-size territory.
The Gengar Diorama joins Sideshow’s growing range of officially licensed Pokémon statues, which already includes a much calmer Snorlax diorama showing multiple Pokémon eating and sleeping beneath a leafy tree.
That earlier piece features 10 Pokémon around a berry-filled picnic, while the new Gengar scene takes the same environment-led approach in a much darker direction through its dead tree, rocky base and supernatural effects.
Sideshow has also expanded its Pokémon range with standalone statues and life-size figures based on characters including Charizard, Pikachu and Eevee, while a separate Mewtwo statue was revealed alongside Gengar at PokémonXP 2026.
Pre-orders for the “Gengar Diorama” are now open directly through Sideshow in the US for $645, with purchases currently limited to two per person.
Shipping is expected between November 2027 and February 2028, although Sideshow notes that delivery estimates may extend into May 2028 depending on production and fulfillment.
