Image by James RichardsonSanrio and tokidoki have officially unveiled a new food-themed merchandise collection that transforms Hello Kitty and her friends into adorable takeout-inspired designs.
The new “tokidoki x Hello Kitty and Friends Tasty Takeout” collection introduces a series of collectible figures alongside bags, travel accessories, clothing and other merchandise decorated with colorful food-inspired illustrations.

Hello Kitty was introduced by Sanrio in 1974 and has since become one of Japan’s most internationally recognized characters, regularly appearing in collaborations with fashion brands, artists and collectible toy manufacturers.

Tokidoki was founded in 2005 by Italian artist Simone Legno and is known for its colorful, Japanese pop culture-inspired artwork and original characters, including the popular Unicorno figures.

The two brands have collaborated on numerous merchandise collections, bringing Hello Kitty and other Sanrio characters into tokidoki’s distinctive world through a mixture of collectible figures, fashion and accessories.

The latest collection takes inspiration from takeaway meals and popular foods, with new designs featuring Hello Kitty, My Melody, Kuromi, Cinnamoroll, Pompompurin, Pochacco, Keroppi, Tuxedo Sam and Little Twin Stars.

One of its main attractions is a new blind-box figure series featuring nine possible designs, including a harder-to-find Little Twin Stars figure, alongside a separately sold Pompompurin ramen collectible.

The food-inspired artwork also appears throughout the wider merchandise range, with several items designed to match the new figures.
