Starbucks Japan launches new matcha mousse tea to help beat the summer heat

Starbucks Coffee Japan has announced a new, limited-time beverage designed to offer a refreshing experience during the peak of the summer heat.
The new drink, the “Suzumi Matcha Mousse Tea,” is a layered iced tea that provides a sense of Japanese-style coolness.

“Suzumi” is a Japanese word that means “cooling off” or “enjoying the cool air” during a hot day.
The base of the new beverage is an iced matcha tea that has been specially blended to be refreshing and to highlight the deep aroma and authentic, bittersweet flavor of the green tea.
This tea is then topped with a light and fluffy white mocha-flavored mousse.

The mousse, which adds a gentle sweetness and a rich texture, is finished with a dusting of matcha powder.
The drink is designed to be enjoyed as the layers gradually mix together, creating a pleasant harmony between the bittersweet tea and the sweet, creamy mousse.
This new release offers a sophisticated, layered tea experience for matcha lovers.

The “Suzumi Matcha Mousse Tea” is available in an Iced, Tall size only, and it is priced at ¥579 (approx. $3.94 USD/£2.94 GBP) for takeout or ¥590 for dine-in.
The new seasonal beverage will be available at Starbucks locations across Japan.
It is scheduled to be launched on Monday, the 18th of August, 2025, and will be sold for a limited time, while supplies last.
