Good Smile Company Unveils New Evangelion Unit-13 Model Kit

Good Smile Company has officially revealed a new MODEROID model kit, with the fearsome EVANGELION Unit-13 from Rebuild of Evangelion set to join the continually expanding line.

The Rebuild of Evangelion film series reimagines Hideaki Anno’s landmark anime with new storylines, updated mechanical designs, and spectacular large-scale battles, introducing several original Evangelion units that have become fan favorites alongside the classic machines.

First appearing in Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo, EVANGELION Unit-13 was constructed under Gendo Ikari’s command to break through Lilith’s barrier and ultimately became the catalyst for the Fourth Impact, the final stage of the Human Instrumentality Project.

Although its silhouette resembles the iconic EVANGELION Unit-01, Unit-13 represents its complete opposite, standing as a machine created to bring despair rather than hope.

Unlike any previous Evangelion, Unit-13 utilizes a unique dual-entry system that allows two pilots to operate the machine together, giving it the extraordinary capability to retrieve both the Spear of Longinus and the Spear of Cassius.

Good Smile Company’s latest MODEROID release recreates the imposing Evangelion with a detailed sculpt that captures its distinctive proportions and intimidating on-screen appearance.

The non-scale model kit assembles into a completed figure measuring approximately 17.5 cm tall and includes the Spear of Longinus as part of the package.

Builders can expect an approachable assembly experience thanks to multi-colored runners, pre-painted components, and included decals that help recreate the machine’s anime-accurate appearance with minimal additional painting required.

A wide range of articulation allows the completed model to recreate many of Unit-13’s memorable battle poses, while multiple interchangeable hand parts provide additional display possibilities.

The kit also includes an alternate chest section that allows builders to recreate Unit-13’s distinctive four-armed form seen during some of the film’s most dramatic moments.
