SQUARE ENIX opens orders for official Final Fantasy Tactics art book featuring never-before-seen art

An official art book for the classic tactical role-playing game, Final Fantasy Tactics, has been announced by Square Enix.
Final Fantasy Tactics, which was first released in 1997 for the PlayStation, is a celebrated title known for its deep, strategic gameplay and its unique, storybook-like art style.

This new art book is a comprehensive collection that covers the entire visual history of the game.
It will include illustrations from the original 1997 release, the updated “War of the Lions” version for the PSP, and new promotional and image art created for the upcoming remaster, Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles.

A key feature of the book is the inclusion of a large amount of never-before-seen material from the game’s development.
For the first time, the original character and job illustrations, as well as rough sketches of the game’s iconic maps, will be published.

The book will also feature a collection of various image illustrations that were created for past collaboration events.
This new release offers fans a definitive and historical look at the art of the beloved classic.

The upcoming remaster, Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles, is scheduled to be released on the 30th of September for the Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

“The Art of FINAL FANTASY TACTICS” is priced at ¥2,750 (approx. $19 USD/£14 GBP) and the book is scheduled to be released on Thursday, the 2nd of October.
Pre-orders are now open on the official Square Enix e-STORE.
