The Pokémon Company has officially announced the next generation of the world-famous franchise with the reveal of “Pokémon Winds” and “Pokémon Waves”.
The new games are set to feature version-exclusive outfits for the main characters that suit their journeys through the diverse environments of the new region.

As part of the ongoing 30th anniversary celebrations, the game introduces a fresh perspective on the series’ traditional exploration mechanics.

The anniversary festivities have already seen the reveal of three new starter Pokémon known in English as Browt, Pombun, and Gecqua.

Fans have also been introduced to two special Pikachu variants named Kazepika-kun and Namipika-chan who have unique sun-kissed designs and coastal attire.

The debut trailer highlights how the protagonist will interact with the world through a refreshed visual style that utilizes the power of the Nintendo Switch 2.
Let’s take a look at the protagonist’s outfits and version differences in closer detail!

Players will be able to journey as a main character whose clothing is specifically tailored for outdoor exploration and survival in different climates.

The Pokémon Wind version features a wardrobe characterized by lightweight fabrics and aerodynamic accessories to reflect the airy themes of the title.

The Pokémon Wave version offers a different style that incorporates water-resistant materials and maritime motifs suited for coastal adventures.

These designs ensure that the player character blends naturally into the high-fidelity natural environments showcased in the first teaser images.

“Pokémon Winds” and “Pokémon Waves” are exclusive to the Nintendo Switch 2 and are scheduled for a simultaneous worldwide release in 2027.
