Square Enix Announces New Final Fantasy X 25th Anniversary Piano Concert Tour
Image by Charlotte DavisSquare Enix has announced a new Final Fantasy X piano solo concert tour celebrating the RPG’s 25th anniversary, with an acclaimed pianist set to perform music from the game across five cities in January 2027.
The “FINAL FANTASY X 25th Anniversary Piano Solo Concert” will revisit some of the soundtrack’s most memorable themes through arrangements performed entirely on a single piano.
Final Fantasy X originally launched for PlayStation 2 in 2001 and follows Tidus after he is transported to the world of Spira, where he joins summoner Yuna and her guardians on a pilgrimage to defeat the colossal creature known as Sin.
Its soundtrack was composed by Nobuo Uematsu, Masashi Hamauzu and Junya Nakano, with pieces such as “To Zanarkand” and “Suteki da ne” becoming closely associated with Tidus and Yuna’s journey.
Music has already played a major part in Square Enix’s 25th anniversary celebrations, with this year also set to see the release of the “FINAL FANTASY X LP Vinyl Set -Eternal Calm-“, a dedicated “To Zanarkand” compilation album and the “FINAL FANTASY X – House Grooves” arrangement album.
The anniversary has also seen Square Enix revisit the game through projects including the “FINAL FANTASY X MUSEUM -Memories of the Pyreflies-” exhibition and a large collaboration cafe featuring food and drinks inspired by characters, locations and moments from Spira.
Acclaimed German pianist Benyamin Nuss will lead the new concert series, drawing on extensive experience performing video game music after previously appearing in productions including “Distant Worlds: music from FINAL FANTASY”, “Final Symphony: music from FINAL FANTASY”, “Symphonic Fantasies: music from SQUARE ENIX” and “KINGDOM HEARTS Orchestra -World Tour-“.
Square Enix has confirmed that the planned program will include “To Zanarkand”, “Besaid Island”, “Hymn of the Fayth”, “Guadosalam”, “Macalania Woods”, “Seymour Battle”, “Decisive Battle” and “Suteki da ne”, with additional pieces also set to be performed.
The tour will begin at Miyagino Ward Cultural Center PaToNa Hall in Miyagi on January 8, before visiting SAWARAPIA in Fukuoka on January 10, Sumitomo Life Izumi Hall in Osaka on January 11, and Shirakawa Hall in Aichi on January 12.
Two final performances will then take place at Dai-ichi Seimei Hall in Tokyo on January 14 and January 15, giving the tour six performances across its five-city run.
Tickets for the Miyagi, Fukuoka, Osaka, and Aichi performances are priced at ¥7,000 (approximately $45 / £34), with Tokyo offering S seats at the same price and A seats for ¥5,500 (approximately $35 / £26).
The Square Enix e-STORE is now accepting applications for its advance ticket lottery, with entries scheduled to close on October 13, 2026.
