Square Enix Announces Dragon Quest 40th Anniversary Exhibition

Square Enix has unveiled an expansive new interactive event to honor the upcoming 40th anniversary of its legendary role-playing franchise, Dragon Quest.
The “Dragon Quest 40th Anniversary Exhibition: Dragon Quest the DIVE” promises to plunge fans straight into the beloved fantasy realms that developers have passionately crafted over four decades.

The Dragon Quest property first enchanted players with its highly accessible approach to role-playing mechanics back in May 1986.
Designed by creator Yuji Horii, the groundbreaking adventure invited gamers to explore a vast kingdom, recruit memorable allies, and vanquish foul beasts.

Featuring instantly recognizable character and monster designs by the late Akira Toriyama, alongside a stirring orchestral score by Koichi Sugiyama, the title quickly became a cultural touchstone in Japan.

Over the past forty years, the epic saga has generated countless numbered sequels, sprawling spin-offs, and successful animated adaptations that have captivated millions worldwide.

The upcoming event will allow fans to experience original exhibits that incorporate the history of the series.
The main attraction of the venue is the “Dragon Quest VR RIDE,” which utilizes modern Meta Quest 3 headsets paired with specialized motion seats.

Fans will feel as though they are physically traveling through the digital environments as they ride on the back of a Great Sabrecat across a massive 360-degree field.
This immersive attraction features close encounters with famous monsters and breathtaking combat sequences unfolding right before the rider’s eyes.

For safety reasons, children between the ages of 10 and 12 require parental consent and physical supervision to use the VR headsets.
Younger guests or those unable to wear the VR equipment can still enjoy the ride via a specialized non-VR viewing screen alongside their guardians.

A dedicated line of commemorative merchandise is also tied to premium admission packages for the event.
These premium bundles include a framed set of three special pin badges carefully replicating the Sword of Erdrick, the Sword of Zenithia, and the Supreme Sword of Light.

The full lineup of general admission tickets available for the primary exhibition period includes the following options:
