Chainsaw Man’s Reze Arc Movie Officially Heads to Amazon Prime This September
Image by James RichardsonChainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc is officially heading to Amazon Prime, giving fans a new way to watch Denji and Reze’s explosive big-screen story.
The announcement comes almost a year after the movie first reached Japanese theaters, following a hugely successful international run that pushed its worldwide box office beyond ¥29.7 billion.
A new visual featuring Chainsaw Man and Reze in her Bomb form has also been released to accompany the latest streaming announcement.
There is an important regional restriction for international viewers, however, as the newly announced Prime Video subscription release currently applies to Japan rather than replacing the movie’s existing overseas streaming arrangements.
Fans in the US and many other countries can already stream Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc through Crunchyroll, where it is available with Japanese audio alongside English and numerous other dubbed and subtitled language options.
Sony Pictures also offers the movie digitally through services including Apple TV, Fandango at Home, YouTube and Sony Pictures Core, providing additional options for viewers who would rather purchase it than use a Crunchyroll subscription.
Chainsaw Man is based on Tatsuki Fujimoto’s manga and follows Denji, an impoverished Devil Hunter whose bond with the Chainsaw Devil Pochita allows him to transform into the chainsaw-covered fighter at the center of the story.
MAPPA adapted the opening portion of the manga into a 12-episode television anime in 2022, with Reze Arc continuing directly from the events of that series rather than beginning a separate version of the story.
The movie introduces Reze as a mysterious girl who suddenly enters Denji’s life, developing their relationship against the increasingly violent conflict surrounding Devils and those trying to claim Chainsaw Man’s heart.
The storyline was already one of the manga’s most popular sections before reaching theaters, with the movie giving it a larger-scale adaptation under director Tatsuya Yoshihara and animation studio MAPPA.
Yoshihara was joined by screenwriter Hiroshi Seko, character designer Kazutaka Sugiyama and composer Kensuke Ushio, while Kikunosuke Toya returned as Denji and Reina Ueda voiced Reze.
Fujimoto marked the news by joking that he had already watched the movie around seven times, making the prospect of seeing it as part of a subscription service within Japan feel strange to him.
Yoshihara meanwhile expressed his hope that both viewers discovering the Reze Arc for the first time and fans returning for another watch will be able to enjoy the story in their own way.
For viewers outside Japan, there is therefore no need to wait for the new Prime Video rollout, as the movie has been available internationally on Crunchyroll since April 30, 2026.
The Japanese Prime Video release will begin on September 19, 2026, exactly one year after the movie originally opened in Japanese theaters, with the film included for Prime members at no additional rental or purchase cost.
