Shu Uemura’s limited-edition Final Fantasy XIV makeup line is inspired by the Mothercrystal and Moogles
A new limited-edition makeup collection has been announced in a major collaboration between the premium Japanese cosmetics brand shu uemura and the massively popular online RPG Final Fantasy XIV.
The new collection is a wide-ranging lineup of makeup, skincare, and beauty tools, with designs inspired by two iconic elements from the game: the mysterious “Mothercrystal” and the cute mascot character, the Moogle.
The full lineup of new and limited-edition products is as follows:
- Kupo! Crystal Palette: ¥11,000 (approx. $75 USD/£55 GBP)
A key highlight of the collection is the “Kupo! Crystal Palette,” a nine-shade eyeshadow palette with a holographic, 3D blue crystal design on its case, which is inspired by the Mothercrystal.
- Eye Sculpt Kupo!: ¥7,700 (approx. $52 USD/£39 GBP)
A second, smaller eyeshadow palette, the “Eye Sculpt Kupo!,” is also available, which features four warm-toned shades inspired by the apricot and pink colors of a Moogle.
- Crushed Gem (2 limited-edition colors): ¥5,720 each (approx. $ USD/£ GBP)
This sparkling diamond eyeshadow is available in two limited edition colors.
The collection also includes three different lipstick formulas in a variety of limited-edition shades.
- Special Lip (1 limited-edition color): ¥5,390 (approx. $39 USD/£29 GBP)
- Kinu Care Nude Gleam (2 limited-edition colors): ¥5,280 each (approx. $36 USD/£26 GBP)
- Ultime8∞ Sublime Beauty Cleansing Oil n (Limited-edition design): 150ml for ¥6,270 (approx. $43 USD/£31 GBP) / 450ml for ¥15,400 (approx. $105 USD/£77 GBP)
A special version of shu uemura’s iconic cleansing oil.
- Eyelash Curler W (Limited-edition design with Moogle charm): ¥3,300 (approx. $22 USD/£16.5 GBP)
A new “Eyelash Curler W” is also being released as part of the collection, which comes with a special, silver Moogle charm.
This new collection offers fans a unique and luxurious way to immerse themselves in the world of the popular game.
The new “shu uemura x Final Fantasy XIV” collection will have a multi-phase release.
A pre-sale will be held at the official shu uemura online store and at the Shu Tokyo Makeup Box flagship store starting on Thursday, the 23rd of October.
A second pre-sale will begin at select department stores across Japan on Friday, the 24th of October.
The general nationwide release of the collection is scheduled for Friday, the 31st of October, 2025.
