Sekiro Anime Adaptation to Premiere in 2026

The anime adaptation titled Sekiro: No Defeat is officially scheduled to premiere in 2026, as announced by Kadokawa Corporation, Crunchyroll, Qzil.la, and ARCH.

The project was first revealed in August 2025 and serves as a direct adaptation of the critically acclaimed video game Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice.

Crunchyroll has secured the exclusive streaming rights for the series worldwide with the exception of Japan, China, Korea, Russia, and Belarus.

Fans in Japan will be able to experience the production through a nationwide theatrical release.

Daisuke Namikawa will lead the cast as the voice of Wolf alongside Miyuki Satou as Kuro the Divine Heir and Kenjiro Tsuda as Genichiro Ashina.

Additional returning voice talent from the original game includes Jin Urayama as the Sculptor and Shizuka Itoh as Emma.

The supporting cast is further bolstered by Akimitsu Takase voicing Hanbei, Takaya Hashi as Owl, and Tetsuo Kanao as Isshin Ashina.

A recently released trailer confirms that the theme song for the series is titled Blu by the late legendary composer Ryuichi Sakamoto.

The musical piece was originally featured on the 2015 album titled The Best of Playing the Orchestra 2014.

This adaptation marks a significant expansion for the FromSoftware and Activision property following its massive success in the gaming industry.
