Sanrio and Junji Ito Open Pre-Orders for New Hello Kitty x Tomie Figure
Good Smile Company has officially opened pre-orders for a highly anticipated scale figure based on the ongoing collaboration between Sanrio and Junji Ito.
Tomie is the iconic horror manga character created by Junji Ito, whose supernatural beauty and unsettling ability to drive those around her into obsession have made her one of the most recognizable figures in Japanese horror, while Hello Kitty remains one of Sanrio’s most beloved characters and a global symbol of kawaii culture.
The “G.S. Collection Gyaru Tomie x Hello Kitty” statue, which was first revealed at Good Smile Fest 2026 in early June, marks the first time the hugely popular collaboration illustration between Tomie and Hello Kitty has been transformed into a scale figure, blending Junji Ito’s unsettling horror with Hello Kitty’s unmistakable charm.
Standing approximately 14 cm tall, the figure recreates the original mostly monochrome illustration, with Tomie finished in shades of gray and white while Hello Kitty’s signature red bow provides a striking splash of color.
Additional paint details include subtle blood-like accents across Tomie’s gray-toned skin and a bluish-gray finish on her handbag, reinforcing the eerie atmosphere that has made the original artwork so memorable while creating a dramatic contrast with Hello Kitty’s cheerful appearance.
The figure joins Good Smile Company’s growing G.S. Collection, a line that brings together popular characters and memorable collaborations through premium scale figures, with previous releases featuring Hatsune Miku in both her Racing Miku and Symphony designs.
The “G.S. Collection Gyaru Tomie x Hello Kitty” scale figure is priced at ¥18,800 (approx. $125 USD / £95 GBP) and is available to pre-order now through the Good Smile Company Online Store and other reputable hobby retailers such as HobbyLink Japan.
The figure is currently scheduled for release in May 2027.
