RWBY Revival Confirmed as VIZ Media Reveals Volume 10 Is In Production
VIZ Media has officially confirmed that RWBY Volume 10 is now in production, bringing an end to years of uncertainty surrounding the future of the popular animated series.
RWBY is an American animated franchise created by the late Monty Oum that blends Western animation with strong Japanese anime influences, following four young Huntresses-in-training as they battle monstrous creatures known as Grimm while protecting the world of Remnant.
The announcement marks a major milestone for the series after former production studio Rooster Teeth shut down in 2024, leaving fans unsure whether the story would continue beyond Volume 9.
Although Volume 9 was completed before the studio’s closure, the franchise’s future remained uncertain until the intellectual property was acquired by VIZ Media in July 2024.
At the time of the acquisition, VIZ Media confirmed it was exploring future projects for the series, giving fans hope that RWBY would eventually return.
That promise has now become reality with the official confirmation that Volume 10 has received the green light for production.
To celebrate the announcement, VIZ Media released a special video bringing together director and writer Kerry Shawcross alongside the four main cast members, thanking fans for their years of patience, passion and unwavering support.
The series takes place in a world where terrifying monsters known as Grimm threaten humanity, with the story following a new generation of aspiring Huntresses as they train to defend the people of Remnant from these ever-present dangers.
Despite being created in the United States, RWBY has earned a particularly strong following in Japan thanks to its anime-inspired storytelling, action sequences, and distinctive character designs.
The franchise’s popularity in Japan also led to the production of the anime series RWBY: Ice Queendom, which debuted in 2022 with a Japanese creative team producing an original interpretation of the world and characters.
While the announcement confirms that Volume 10 is officially moving forward, VIZ Media has not yet revealed any story details, release window, or additional production information, with more updates expected at a later date.
