Bandai Opens Limited Pre-Orders for Gundam SEED’s New Event Exclusive Destiny Gundam Premium Figure

Bandai has officially opened pre-orders for the dramatic new METAL ROBOT Spirits release based on the Destiny Gundam Spec II figure that is set to debut at this year’s TAMASHII NATION 2026 exhibition.
The new METAL ROBOT Spirits Destiny Gundam Spec II Final Battle Ver. has been created for the TAMASHII NATION 2026 exhibition and is one of two event-exclusive Gundam figures that will be shown at this year’s show.

Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Freedom continues the story of the hugely successful Gundam SEED anime series, reuniting characters including Shinn Asuka, Kira Yamato and Athrun Zala for a new conflict set shortly after the events of Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny.

Piloted by Shinn, the Destiny Gundam Spec II is an extensively upgraded version of his original Destiny Gundam that was secretly recovered following the previous war and subsequently rebuilt using technology developed by Morgenroete.

Its upgrades include a panoramic cockpit, revised joint armor and improvements to the power system, with the increased energy output also producing the deeper coloration of its Variable Phase Shift armor.

The Destiny Gundam Spec II reaches its full potential during SEED Freedom’s final battle, when Shinn overwhelms his opponents while seemingly creating dozens of copies of the mobile suit through the Mirage Colloid system.

The METAL ROBOT Spirits Destiny Gundam Spec II Final Battle Ver. builds upon Bandai’s previously released figure while completely changing its finish to recreate the intense red glow surrounding the mobile suit during this sequence.

A diffused red finish runs across the body, while die-cast components around areas including the elbows and knees have been electroplated to reproduce the red light emitted as the Destiny deploys its Mirage Colloid after-images.

Printed markings cover the armor and complement the metallic treatment of the METAL ROBOT Spirits construction, adding further mechanical detail across the completed figure.

The extensive weapon selection includes the Arondight Beam Sword, High-Energy Long-Range Beam Cannon, Flash-Edge 2 Beam Boomerangs, High-Energy Beam Rifle and Prototype 35-Type Modified Railgun.

Collectors can also recreate several of Shinn’s attacks using the included Palma Fiocina palm beam cannon effects, while Beam Shield effect parts provide additional options for defensive poses.

The complete package also includes the large Wings of Light effects that were previously sold separately, allowing the Destiny Gundam Spec II to be displayed with the enormous illuminated wings seen as Shinn pushes the machine to its limits during the movie’s climactic battle.

The Destiny Gundam follows the recently revealed METAL BUILD God Gundam (Meikyo Shisui), another TAMASHII NATION 2026 exclusive that uses multiple shades of metallic gold to recreate the God Gundam’s radiant Hyper Mode transformation from Mobile Fighter G Gundam.

While both figures will be sold at the TAMASHII NATION 2026 exhibition in Japan from November 13 to November 15, 2026, Bandai has made a limited quantity of them both available to pre-order online through Premium Bandai Japan.
Unlike standard online pre-orders, Bandai has restricted sales to CLUB TAMASHII members only.

In addition to this, due to the limited amount of stock available, CLUB TAMASHII members will have to enter a lottery to win the right to place a pre-order.
Lottery entries can be made between August 24 and 27, and winners will be notified from September 1.

The lucky winners will then be able to place their pre-order for the METAL ROBOT Spirits Destiny Gundam Spec II Final Battle Ver., priced at ¥25,300 (approx. $160 USD / £119 GBP), which is currently expected to ship on November 11, just prior to the TAMASHII NATION 2026 event.
Fans in the US will likely get the chance to order the figure through Premium Bandai US after the conclusion of the TAMASHII NATION 2026 exhibition, as event exclusives in previous years have eventually gone on to receive international releases.
